Carolina Formation Synchro was formed in the Spring of 2021 when Carolina Ice Synchro and Triangle Formation merged to form the largest figure skating organization in North Carolina.  The Head Coaches from the legacy organizations serve as Co-Head Coaches/Program Directors and bring 30+ years of coaching experience to Carolina Formation. Team and Assistant Coaches represent multiple disciplines including ice dance, physical training, and ballet.

all skaterS welcome!

Carolina Formation is committed to creating an inclusive and positive training environment where every skater feels supported and accepted.

YEAR-ROUND TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

Throughout the year Carolina Formation members have access to a variety of on and off-ice training activities to help them develop the unique skill set of a synchronized skater. In addition to team practices during the competitive synchro season, other training opportunities for CFSS members include synchro skills & drills sessions, off-ice strength & flexibility conditioning, and special sessions with expert guest coaches. CFSS skaters develop critical Individual skating skills by joining Learn to Skate USA group classes, working with individual coaches on moves, ice dance, spins & jumps, practicing at freestyle skating sessions, attending specialty skating seminars and participating in U.S Figure Skating test sessions that are hosted by figure skating clubs.

DEVELOPING THE WHOLE SKATER

Carolina Formation coaches are passionate about synchronized skating and are committed to guiding CFSS members to set goals to become the best athletes and teammates they can be. CFSS members are expected to have a dedication to developing strong skating skills, to value spirited teamwork, and to bring their best to competition. Carolina Formation aims to develop well-rounded individuals who confidently meet challenges, contribute positively to solutions, and strive for success on and off the ice.

The majority of CFSS members are student-athletes and we support their commitment to attaining their academic goals. Carolina Formation skaters represent their schools on honor rolls, in school leadership positions, and through school-based endeavors such as clubs, art, music, theatre, and service activities. Some members are active in other organizations that develop their interests and talents. All of these activities bring personality to Carolina Formation and we encourage our members to celebrate each other’s talents.

VALUING OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY

Carolina Formation believes it is important to support our local communities where there are needs. Each year our members and their families participate in service efforts (#synchrogivesback) that foster compassion, kindness and generosity. Recent projects include providing gifts to children during the winter holiday season and collecting donations for an animal rescue organization.

BUILDING A STRONG FOUNDATION FOR FUTURE SKATING OPPORTUNITIES

CFSS provides its members with experiences and skill development that enables them to aim high and achieve impressive skating accomplishments. Graduates from our legacy organizations (Carolina Ice Synchro and Triangle Formation Synchro) have remained involved with synchronized and individual skating. We applaud former teammates who have represented college-level and elite synchro teams, become synchro TEAM USA members, and have qualified for National, international and World synchro competitions with. Other graduates have pursued singles and ice dance competitions and professional skating opportunities. Several former members are now coaches, paving a path for the next generation of skaters!
